A booster pump is needed only when the feedwater pressure is low. Most residential well pumps are controlled by a pressure switch that
turns the well pump on at 40 psi and off at 60 psi, or
turns the well pump on at 30 psi and off at 50 psi.

Typically folks opt for booster pumps if their low end pressure is below 40 psi. You could install the system and see how it works for you without a booster pump, and install on later only if needed.
