Smile CREE LED Lighting "Color Temp" Pictures & Par Readings

I know many are considering switching to LED's, and are unsure of what bulb combo they want to use. The picture below consist of the following:

1. 12 Cree XP-G R5 White's driven on a meanwell ELN-60-48D driver.
2. 12 Cree XR-E Royal Blue's driven on a meanwell LPC-35-700W driver.

I also have par readings with the whites at full intensity, the blues at full intensity, and both whites and blues at full intensity. This information will follow the

Note - I am not stating LED's can grow sps or not. If you look most of my sps are frags anyways... I think the general consensus is that they are in fact able to. (I hope they work for me)

On to the pictures -->>

PAR READINGS FOR WHITES & BLUES AT FULL POWER

The 1900 is at the fixture in the very top of the tank. There are about 4" above the top of this picture to the waterline.

****WHITE & BLUE PAR READINGS SEPERATELY****

Whites:
Top Center = 700
Middle Left/Right = 150
Middle Center = 380
Bottom = 140

Blues:
Top Center = 600
Middle Left/Right = 100
Middle Center = 330
Bottom = 100

My whites are XP-G R5's which ARE STRONGER than the blue XR-E's. It is surprising the blues are very very close to the same par as the whites. I bet white and blue XR-E's would be equal based on my testing.

If you are doing a diy go for the color you want, and do not assume you need the whites for the high PAR numbers.

Enjoy! Feedback is welcome either positive or negative.

Thanks,
Mike

Great numbers. What size is your tank? also in the above pictures are those with the whites dimed down or is that the color with them both at full power?

Would be interesting to see the same test with the XP-E Blues instead of the XR-E blues.

It is a 29gal biocube.

The whites are on a dimmer, and the blues are on a constant current driver. The PAR readings are both at full power.

I am in the process of building a fixture with them. Will be posting the readings when it is done.
