Parrthed's Reefer 250 Build

Just picked her up today, very excited.

I have had many reef tanks in the past but after having a 14 biocube for the past year I am excited to get something a little bigger

Planning on more updates this weekend.

Here are some teaser pics

Also I was unaware that Red Sea did a rev on the sump

It has a filter cup

The sump I received Has a filter cup, refugium baffle, adjustable skimmer baffle and different routing for the plumbing

I guess I'll have to rethink my plumbing

Got the stand mostly built, the whole left panel has a pretty good curve to it so I will have to contact Red Sea about that.

I have also figured out how I will re-route my manifold as well

Here's a pic of my biocube 14 as well

Also noticed my paperwork says "refugium ready"

Had some time to work on her tonight

Plumbed up my return pump and manifold ( Varios 6)

Cut my PVC bottom and routed the edges, siliconed it to the bottom with a bead all around to keep detritus from getting underneath

I'm using the caribsea shelf dry rock as base pieces so they sit flat on the bottom.

All 3 light arms brackets are mounted, waiting on another extension arm to get the third one up

That plumbing is looking sophisticated. Looks great.

Had a chance to scape today, Used Caribsea rock and Nyos reef cement

I wanted an open concept with some room to play with overhanging corals and still keep the floor space open.

The skimmer should be arriving tomorrow (Octopus 110 recirculating) which will be plumbed to the manifold.

I will also be adding a 12" cube to the right of the sump

Sorry for the crappy pictures, it was late

Are you going to do a barebottom tank or are you going to add sand later but must say your current aquascape looks great can't wait to see it with water.

I'm going to keep it bare bottom, I have gone bare bottom on my last 2 tanks. I find it easier to clean and I will have most of the bottom covered in corals in no time.

Plumbed the skimmer tonight.
I plan on ordering my aquamaxx reactor for some matrix media next week.
Gong to hook up my RO system this weekend sometime.

I'm pretty busy with MVPA stuff this weekend but will post pics As soon as I can
