Awesome. I would be interested in seeing how it turned out and where it stands today. I really like your stand.

How has cleaning and general maintenance etc gone with such a tall tank? I am fairly tall, and have long arms, but even still I would think you need to stand on a stool or something to be able to reach the bottom of the tank.

Is it 1" drains and 3/4" returns? Did the tank come with bulk heads, were they barbed, and did you buy new bulk heads(slip)?
I ordered a Deep Blue 150g XH. The description says the bulk heads are barbed.

Yes 1" drain and 3/4" returns. Yes the bulkheads that come with the tank are barbed (and are garbage quality). I ordered ABS bulkheads from BRS. They hold up great and seal perfectly.

I have one of those folding 300lb platforms. Its like 2 feet tall when opened but folds flat for almost invisible storage under a bed, in a closet etc. Maintenance hasnt been an issue as far as reaching down... honestly my biggest problem is that my ceilings downstairs where the tank is are very low which makes me bend in a contorted, uncomfortable way lol. But thats no fault of the tank obviously
