Great BUild!
cant wait to see you fill it up.
What exactly does that foam padding do?
Did you put the foam padding under the stand to where i meets the floor?

Thanks! Its a 1/2" of high density foam that sits between the tanks rim and the plywood. Its been highly debated on wether or not to use it on a rimmed tank but given the fact that its a homemade stand and I have a very textured tile floor, I just feel better with it there. The rim rest uniformly on the 1/2" of foam so any "give" should be equal.

Side cabinets pretty much done. Either going to start running electric or bottom mouldings next. We'll see.

Added some base moulding, an auto top off (smart ATO micro), and hung the BRS dual reactor

Going to add corner mould and hopefully start the electrical tomorrow.

Not much to report, started the electrical and found a great deal today at my LFS on a 37lb box Caribsea's "life rock" so I brought it home and stared playing with some ideas.

Coming along nicely. Got the center door done today. I decided to go with faux double doors. I wanted unobstructed access to the sump area. I recessed some magnets into the back of the door and mounted some coated metal brackets inside the stand. Came out good I think.

Also got some sand by Tropic Eden... This stuff is GREAT. Really nice looking, uniform grains. When I rinsed the sand with RODI, the water was almost crystal clear from the start.
I have some silicone tubing on order from BRS so I can make a low vibration connection from my return pump to the rigid plumbing. Should be here tomorrow. Next week I'll hopefully finish off the smaller doors on the side cabinets...

Ugh Its a lot of work... Just want to see some water already lol. Glad Im going slow though.
Excuse the photobomb courtesy of my helper...

Nice GSP and nice work on the stand. Very clean and nice work concealing all the wiring.

Hey thanks a lot! That's my Ginny... She is the best dog Ive ever owned. She wants to hunt everything though... Reflections, shadows, lint, and every small animal she see's. She's very true to her breed and sometimes I feel terrible that I dont hunt her. But they make absolutely phenomenal pets too!

If your husbandry and reefing skills are as good as your carpentry and building skills... We are in for one hell of a treat..

Lookin' forward to more.

Subbed.

I am always impressed with peoples wood working skills.... I have been turning wrenches all my life, and even precision measurement stuff, but I am such a buffoon when it comes to woodworking... I really like stand.

I am curious about the tank. What are it's dimensions? Who makes it?

No one seemed interested so I let it go.

The tank is 48"x24"x30" deep blue.
